Partnership for Labour Skill & Competency Development: For Sustainability of the economy, society and people’s well-being.
PTTEP realises that skills development is high on the priority list in all stages of development and essential prerequisite for sustainability. The company has collaborated and worked closely with the Songkhla Institute for Skill Development Region 12 to create the only place in Thailand for the Underwater Metal Arc Cutting and Welding training and more related courses in 4 main fields, 1) Modern Welding Technology, 2) Product Assembly Welder 3) the Technical Trailers Driving, and 4) the Modern Welding and Cutting Technology. These talented careers are important for Thailand economic development and high cost of imported labours.
The mutual relationship started from the year 2019 until 2022. The four years strong partnership is recognised by the success of certified 330 well-trained and high-skilled labours at international standard qualified and finished the course.
The total preliminary unburdens value for the trainee is THB 13.64 million included the cost for 32 trainees in 2021-2022 underwater welding and another 56 trainees in 2021 in other welding. The project shows a preliminary tangible value from 2 years rough calculation amid the Covid-19 crisis. The increased income that leads to well-being of people and communities are beyond.
The proven record for long-term relationships and commitment for sustainability is the Award Plague of Honour that the Labor Minister has given to the PTTEP on April 22, 2022.
The Songkhla Institute for Skill Development Region 12 and the PTTEP have the same ultimate goals to fulfill lacking high-skill labour that is important to Thailand's industrial driving.
